Ian Francis

Since leaving school at 16, all my working life has been in the injection moulding industry. After completing a Polymer Technician apprenticeship at a large plastics and rubber processing company based in the NW of England, I was employed in a development engineering role at a major automotive supplier in the NE of England.

In 1989 I joined the PPITB in Telford (later to become BPTA & then PTL) as their mobile instructor, responsible for designing and delivering practical and theory courses in company throughout the UK & Ireland. In later years I was also involved in the transfer of this knowledge to other parts of the world and I have delivered training in the USA & China.

Through my work with many major companies and their customers, I have continually developed my knowledge of injection moulding processes and techniques. I have also continued my own personal development, gaining an MSc in Manufacturing with the OU and a Certificate in Education.

In November 2009 I established PTS and since then I have developed and delivered a wide range of technical training programmes for companies in the Automotive, Packaging, Medical & Building sectors, both in the UK & overseas.
